Start with your current situation
Write down what is working, what is difficult and what you would like to change. Separate things you know from assumptions. “I enjoy solving customer problems” gives you more to explore than “I need a better career.”
Choose two roles to investigate
Look at several current job descriptions for each role. Note the problems the role solves, the day-to-day tasks and the evidence employers ask for. Avoid making a choice from the title alone.
Find evidence in your own experience
List projects, tasks or experiences you enjoyed and handled well. What did you actually do? Which parts gave you energy? Identify where those experiences connect to the roles you are investigating.
Run a small experiment
Talk to someone doing the work, try a small project or observe a realistic workflow. Keep the experiment manageable. The aim is to learn whether you want to explore further.
Make the next month specific
Choose one action for research, one for practice and one for conversation. Add a review date. Update your direction when you learn something new; a plan should help you respond, not lock you in.
